Start by mixing a small amount of Selective into your degu's current food. Reduce the amount of old food while increasing the amount of Selective. A sudden change in diet can cause digestive problems, so it is best to make the change gradually.
If your degu is used to sugar-rich food, it may take a while to get used to the new food, but your patience will be rewarded with your degu's long-term well-being. Always provide plenty of fresh hay and fresh water – these should be available to your degus at all times.
